The -=Silver=- Circle
In the days of old, alliances protected the lands of Elacia. Humans,
elves, dwarves and any willing guarded their own homes as well as the
lands of their lords. Everything seemed to be at peace as the last of
evil was forced down into the dark recesses of Elacia.
But as the evil subsided from the lands, the greed of the lords increased.
With the populations increasing land became an extremely valuable commodity.
The more land a Lord owned the more people he could rule over. Bitter
wars
soon started between former friends. Alliances feel apart over night.
While those of good fought each other, evil began to grow. Slowly kingdoms
fell victim to an unseen force of darkness. Without those of good to
keep
evil at bay, the lands soon became perilous. A small group of clerics
realizing that plague, pestilence, and death were now spreading, headed
out
with one mission in mind. "To spread our healing hands, across
the wounded
lands." As they traversed the roads, those they healed wished to
return the
favor. So the group of clerics quickly became an army of men and women
with
the intention of spreading hope and light. They called themselves The

-=Silver=- History
The Golden Age of Elacia has long faded away. The major races were
growing
distant and suspicious of each other. Each drew back to their own realm,
their earlier alliance forgotten.
As the population of each race grew larger, the need for land increased.
Humans mined the mountains and chopped the trees from the forests drawing
the ire of the dwarves and the elves. All the while the goblins, orcs
and
other monsters were regaining their strength.
War raged across Elacia; Famine descended onto Elacia; Pestilence swept
through Elacia; Death reigned over Elacia.
A group of clerics, saddened and sickened by the condition of the land,
decided to come together to form a small clan. Their mission was simple:-
"To spread our healing hands, across the wounded lands" They
named themselves
the -=SILVER=- Circle.
Silver - the symbol of goodness; the light to hold back the
darkness; the
bright hope for a better future.
Circle - the symbol of life eternal; the brotherhood of equals;
the belief
that as the wheel of time turns peace will come again.
And so they traveled far and wide, offering aid freely to those in
need.
Soon the clerics realized that the might of a warrior, the guile of
a thief
and the enchantments of a mage were as important in the struggle to
restore
peace to Elacia, and the ranks of the clan were opened for the other
three
classes.
Finally the war was over but the monsters had regained so much of their
old strength that it was impossible to dislodge them. A delicate balance
came into being. The cities were safe but in the wilderness, the monsters
ruled. The conditions were different but the clan's objectives remained
the
same, lending a helping hand to the brave new heroes and heroines who
ventured through Elacia. The -=SILVER=- Circle remained unobtrusively
in the
background for years until it finally made the transition into tribal
status
to further pursue it's unending struggle for peace in Elacia.
-=Silver=- Rules
Without guidelines no tribe would be able to exist. Thus it is necessary
for the following rules to not only exist, but be enforced in order
to
maintain order in The Circle.
1)Silver members must keep an alignment of Good/Neutral (+1000 to -350).
2)Silver members must be willing to help others freely through CRs,
healing
and/or information.
3)Silver members must follow all other rules and guidelines designated
for
the mud. Help rules for a list of what to do and what not to do.
4)Silver members must not, for any reason, give out tribal equipment
to
non-Silver characters.
The above rules are not suggestions and non-adherrence will not be
tolerated.
If you have a question about your actions, please contact a Chief before
continuing with them.
-=Silver=- Membership
Anyone wishing to join should be at least level 15 and of good/neutral
alignment. He or she must share the tribe's mission to help others freely
through CRs, healing and/or information. Prospective members must also
pass three tests before they are accepted.
Interested applicants should write a note to -=Silver=- (addressed
to
silvr) in the personal box. You should explain your wishes to join
the tribe, along with your class, race, level, alignment, and any
other information you feel to be relavant to your application.
Once your application has been received, you will be contacted by a
member of the tribe in regards to your questing. While questing we
ask that you put -=Silver=- Semi-Circle in your title to allow members
to get to know you better, along with the mud to know that you have
applied to the tribe.
Your three quests will include exploration of an area, an item fetch,
and
a fighting quest. Expect also to be interviewed informally by members
of
the tribe while your application is reviewed, and then formally by two
chiefs of the tribe when your questing is complete.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact any
member
of the tribe for more information. Our goal isn't to be mean or get
you
killed, but for you to learn about the mud so you may inturn help others.
-=Silver=- Radiance
There are many benefits to being a member of the -=Silver=- Circle.
One of
these is the gift of -=Silver=- Radiance, a spell that helps in one
of our
major functions of a tribe, performing CRs.
This spell can only be cast when a player's corpse is in the room.
When the
spell is cast successfully, the room will be illuminated in a holy light,
preventing the player corpse from decaying. All fighting in the room
will
be suspended temporarily, enabling a hasty retrieval of the corpse.
This spell
is of benign nature, meaning that it can even be used in a room that
doesn't allow
normal magic. After purifying the room, travelers will be able to pray
for safe
transportation home.
The -=Silver=- Keep
When Lord Caevin of the House of Argenus passed away, he was without
an heir.
In his will, he granted his Keep and all of the land surrounding it
to the
Silver Circle, then only a small clan of clerics, warriors, mages, and
thieves
with whom he had close personal ties. Soon after his death, the Silver
Circle
moved into the Keep as a permanent center of operations. That same Keep
(although renovated very much) on the road just east of Bree still stands
today
as the headquarters of the Silver Circle.
The real heart of the Silver Circle, of course, is not within the walls
of the
Silver Keep. In truth, it is in the healing hands of the clerics working
miracles
in all the cities of Elacia. It is in the selfless acts of rescue performed
by the
warriors pledged to the Circle. It is in the openly shared wisdom of
the mages who
teach all who need knowledge. It is in the silent steps of the Silver
thieves who
perhaps prevent more crime than most will ever know.
But each member holds the Keep in a special place in his or her heart.
Relaxing
afternoons reading books from the library beneath the mallorn tree in
the Garden
of Light, enjoying magnificent nightly meals in the Banquet Hall, and
assisting
the healers in the Hall of Healing as they perform their art - these
are memories
that stick with members of the Silver Circle right alongside their incredible
experiences of working good deeds in the world. Every Silver member
is comforted by
the fact that they will always have a room, meals, and a safe refuge
to return to
when the persecution, or the stress, or the nostalgia becomes unbearable.
